Clarissa FERRERI (QAM & website editor)

 She started working as laboratory technician in 1998 for the EU-RL for Chemical Elements in Food of Animal Origin (EURL-CEFAO) hosted by the Istituto Superiore di Sanità.
After an experience in the private sector at R&D Department of a food industry focused on production and distribution of milk, dairy products and fruit beverages, she joined the EU-RL VTEC in January 2010 to provide support in quality assurance and to maintain and implementing the EU-RL website, with emphasis on the services of the Restricted Area, such as those used for the on-line submission of the results of the inter-laboratory studies, in collaboration with the IT Service of the ISS.

Antonella MAUGLIANI (Molecular Microbiologist)

 Scientist working at the EU Reference Laboratory for E. coli. She graduated in biology and attended a master in Bioinformatics. Her main research activities concern studies on the molecular typing of pathogenic E. coli. Her duties at the EU RL VTEC comprise the conduction of training sessions on molecular characterization of pathogenic E. coli and PFGE typing data production and analysis. She collaborates to the organization of the annual Proficiency Tests, in technical procedures production and sample preparation and testing. Paola CHIANI (Laboratory Technician)

 She graduated in Biology and got a Master degree in Biotecnologies Applications.
Since she started working at ISS, she collaborated in research projects aiming at identifying vaccinal candidates for Candida infections. She joined the EU-RL VTEC in March 2015 to provide support in cellular biology and in vitro cell culturing. She is involved in the study of the interactions ofVTEC with the host gut mucosa and collaborates to the preparation of the annual Proficiency Tests. Finally, she provides technical support for the molecular characterization of pathogenic E. coli.

Silvia ARANCIA (Laboratory Technician)

 She graduated in Biology, got a Master degree in Biotecnologies Applications and got PhD in Clinical Microbiology. Since she started working at ISS, she collaborated in research projects for the Candida molecular diagnosis and species identification by the use of Polymerase Chain Reaction (PCR), Real Time PCR, HRMA, Southern e Northern blot. She joined the EU-RL VTEC in December 2015 to provide technical support for the molecular characterization of pathogenic E. coli and in vitro cell culturing. She is involved in the study of the interactions of VTEC with the host gut mucosa and collaborates to the preparation of the annual Proficiency Tests.

Gianfranco BRAMBILLA (Veterinary Toxicologist)

 Senior investigator at the Veterinary Public Health and Food Safety Department of the Istituto Superiore di Sanità. Research interest in environmental quality parameters able to support food safety and food security. Currently involved in emerging hazards characterization in the food chain from anthropogenic pressures and in the related risk assessment. He joined the EU-RL VTEC in 2015 to provide support in R&D to the scientific coordination. Author of more than 80 peer-reviewed international publications, in 2014 achieved the habilitation as full professor in Veterinary Toxicology, at national level.
