Joint EFSA/ECDC technical report on the collection and analysis of WGS data from food-borne pathogens and other relevant microorganisms

Dear colleagues,

We are happy to inform you that the ECDC-EFSA report on options for a joint database for whole genome sequencing (as an upgrade of or in addition to the current joint database for PFGE and MLVA),

EFSA and ECDC technical report on the collection and analysis of whole genome sequencing data from food-borne pathogens and other relevant microorganisms isolated from human, animal, food, feed and food/feed environmental samples in the joint ECDC-EFSA molecular typing database

is now available online.

In the coming months and based on this report as well as strategic priorities, ECDC and EFSA will work out in detail how this joint database will be implemented.

In case you have questions regarding this, please contact Ivo Van Walle: Ivo.Van.Walle@ecdc.europa.eu with a copy to fwd@ecdc.europa.eu.

Kind regards,

Johanna
On behalf of ECDC FWD and molecular surveillance teams

The pdf can be downloaded also from the ECDC documents present in the Documents section of the EURL-VTEC website.
