Mothers and obesity

MMM would like to communicate an important message regarding obesity prevention considering the increase of the epidemic throughout the world.
The results of a research conducted in the framework of a European project DORIAN showed that obesity during pregnancy has a negative impact on the health of children throughout their lives, greatly increasing the likelihood that the child develops cardiovascular and cerebrovascular disease and type 2 diabetes in adulthood. In addition, significant weight gain in pregnancy associated with poor mental health of the mother, can slow fetal growth and increase mental disorders of children in adulthood.
That is why MMM, who was a partner in this project, would like to recall the importance of food choices for children and for mothers especially when pregnancy is planned. Here you will find tips for healthy diet for adults and for children
Make Mothers Matter wants to inform especially mothers because they are often the ones who are at the origin of food choices for their children. The involvement of mothers is essential in these daily choices. Establishing good eating habits is so important for the health of all. Here is a video that MMM has made on the subject. Let's Fight together against the epidemic of overweight and obesity that have long-term impact on health!
