How to reach the National Central Library of Rome

From Leonardo da Vinci airport (Fiumicino) (35Km) and Giovan Battista Pastine airport (Ciampino) (15 Km)

  • The non-stop Leonardo Express runs every 30 minutes.
    The journey between Fiumicino airport and Termini station of Rome takes only 30 minutes.
    The service is first-class only and the ticket costs € 14.
  • Bus Shuttle: the Bus Shuttle connects Termini Station with the airports of Fiumicino and Ciampino. It runs about every 30 minutes. The journey takes about 1 hour 15 minutes from Fiumicino airport and about 40 minutes from Ciampino airport. A one way ticket costs € 6 (Fiumicino) and € 4 (Ciampino), a return ticket costs € 11 (Fiumicino) and € 8 (Ciampino).


The National Central Library is located about 800 metres from the Termini station.
You can take a taxi or the Underground, Line B , direction Rebibbia.
The National Central Library is only one stop away from Termini station.
Get off at Castro Pretorio. The price of a metro ticket is € 1.50 for 100 minutes.
Alternatively, you can also walk from Termini station to the National Central Library (about 15 minutes).

By Taxi: the journey from the airport takes about 40 minutes from either airport. The one way journey to Fiumicino costs € 45, to Ciampino € 30.

NB: please make sure you negotiate all fares with the driver before you accept the ride. Unfortunately some taxi drivers are known to take advantage of tourists to charge exorbitant fees for short rides.
